The Dawson County Middle School Tigers traveled to Ellijay Oct. 6 for a football game with the Gilmer County Middle School Bobcats.

The Dawson County Middle School football team won its second game of the season last Thursday by a 20-16 score over Clear Creek Middle School.
Eagles improve to 4-1 for season
The Riverview Middle School football team improved its record to 4-1 following a 14-0 win over Clear Creek Middle School in Ellijay Sept. 23.

The Riverview football team staged an impressive 41-0 win over Gilmer County last Thursday in Dawsonville. With the win, Riverview moved to 3-1 on the season.

The Dawson County Middle School Tiger football team picked up its first win of the season Sept. 9. The Tigers defeated visiting Pickens County Middle School by a 13-6 score. Dawson is currently 1-2 overall on the season.

The Riverview Middle School football team lost for the first time this season Sept. 9. The Eagles fell to Union County by a 21-7 score. With the loss, the Eagles moved to 2-1 on the season.

The Riverview Middle School football team remained undefeated with a come from behind win over a good Jasper Middle School team last Thursday in Jasper. The Eagles came away with a 15-8 win and moved to 2-0 on the season.

The Dawson County Middle School football team dropped a 22-0 decision to visiting Fannin County last Thursday at Sandy Walls Memorial Stadium.

It was a classic battle between two county rivals last Saturday evening at Tiger Stadium. Anytime Dawson County and Riverview middle schools play the outcome usually comes down to the fourth quarter.

The Riverview Lady Eagle softball team is playing great. Jeff Compton's team is currently 2-1 on the season.
Rivals to meet on Saturday
Both of the county's middle schools will open their football season this Saturday, against each other. To top it off, the teams will play at Tiger Stadium on the campus of Dawson County High School.
Weather dampening season
The Dawson County Middle School softball team just can't catch a break with the weather. On Friday, the Lady Tigers played host to Union County. Trailing just 3-2 in the third inning lightning was detected in the area and players were removed from the playing field.
Teams play in practice game
Both middle school football teams, Riverview and Dawson County, will play in a preseason scrimmage at Pickens County Middle School in Jasper on Thursday. Each team will play two 30-minute games.
Lady Tigers prepare for rivals
Head Coach Karen Spencer will begin her third year as head coach of the Dawson County Middle School softball team. Spencer conducted tryouts last week at Veterans Memorial Park. Over 30 girls participated in tryouts with only 11 players making the team.

In what is being billed as both a cost-saving and competitive measure, Dawson County and Riverview middle schools will combine their football, softball and wrestling programs, as well as their football cheerleading squads.

The Riverview Middle School Lady Eagle soccer team avenged an earlier defeat to rival Dawson County Middle with a 4-2 win March 21. Earlier this season, the Lady Tigers defeated Riverview by a 3-1 score.

The Riverview Middle School boys soccer team defeated Dawson County Middle, 4-1, last week. Coach Patrick Johnston's team followed Thursday's win with a 9-0 thrashing of Jasper Middle on Friday.
Eagles roll over Clear Creek
The Riverview Middle School Lady Eagle soccer team defeated Clear Creek Middle 9-0 last week. The Lady Eagles scored just 14 second into the game to take the quick 1-0 lead.
Middle school girls are 7-0
Coach Jessi Crane's Dawson County Middle School soccer team remains perfect with a 7-0 record following a thrashing of Pickens County Middle on Thursday. The Lady Tigers defeated Pickens by a score of 8-0.
