The Dawson County wrestling team participated in the state traditional wrestling tournament last weekend at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth. The Tiger wrestlers accumulated 11.5 points to finish in 41st place.
Head Coach Thad Burgess and his varsity Tiger basketball team traveled to Blue Ridge last Tuesday night for a big match-up against Region 8-AA foe Fannin County. The Tigers held off a late Rebel charge to come away with a 61-58 victory.

The Dawson County varsity Lady Tigers maintained a lead for three quarters, but just couldn't hang on as the team dropped its fifth straight game with a 68-50 loss to Union County last Friday night in Blairsville.

Behind the great offensive performance by Stephen Scaife and Tyler Dominy, with 26 and 25 points respectively, the Tigers captured a 66-46 win over their archrivals Union County.
The Dawson County High School junior varsity boys basketball team won its second game in a row with a 40-34 win over Riverside Military Academy on Monday. Head Coach Wes Greer's team now stands at 7-6 on the season.
It was a tough week for the Dawson County Lady Tiger varsity basketball team. Head Coach Steve Sweat's team played two top-10 ranked AA opponents in Rabun County, No. 3, and North Oconee, No. 10. To make matters worse, both games were long road trips.
