The Dawson County High School varsity Lady Tigers softball team played its first game in eight days last Thursday. Despite the time off the Lady Tigers didn't miss a beat and came away with a 9-1 victory against Rabun County.
Weather played a major role this week for the Dawson County High School softball team. Thunderstorms on Tuesday caused a cancellation of a game at Pickens County, which was played on Wednesday under threatening skies in Jasper.
The Dawson County Lady Tiger softball team traveled to Gainesville for the 9th Annual Lanier Point Invitational last Friday and Saturday. Games were halted after the Saturday morning session because of rain and will be made up this Saturday.
Tiger football player Zack Johnson is being recruited by several Division I football schools throughout the Southeast. Johnson, a 6'3" 300 pound senior, has traveled to many football camps this summer.
