Tigers finish summer on a high note
The month of June is a time of evaluation for Head Coach Thad Burgess and his basketball team. Despite getting off to a slow start at Buford High School at the beginning of the month,his team finished strong at Birmingham-Southern University in Alabama.
Summer workouts held at high school
While most school children are trying to find ways to occupy their time during the summer, athletes at Dawson County High School are busy trying to improve themselves.
Lady Tiger named first team all-area
Christine Parker was named first team All-Area track by the Gainesville Times earlier this month. Parker claimed the Region 8-AA title in the 3200 meters for the Lady Tigers during her senior season.
Junior named to All-Area team
Dawson County Tiger junior shortstop Chase Gilreath was recently named to the Gainesville Times All-Area team as an honorable mention.
Three Lady Tigers named to soccer team
Dawson County placed three players on the All-Area Girls' Soccer Team announced last week by the Gainesville Times.
Golfers fare well
Dawson County High School Senior Charley Whitmire was named to the first team All-Area girls' golf team by the Gainesville Times last week.
Track banquet honors runners
Dawson County High School Head Track Coach Arron Haynes and his assistants honored their athletes last Sunday, May 17 at a banquet held at Dawson County High School.

Team bounces back
Dawson County High School varsity baseball coach Jimmy Pruett breathed a sigh of relief after Saturday's final out against Banks County. His Tigers broke a five game losing streak, by beating the Leopards, 14-0.
