Dawson County High School Junior Varsity Coach Wes Greer and his basketball team lost a heartbreaker Saturday to visiting North Forsyth by a 35-33 score.

Head wrestling coach Arron Haynes honored his senior wrestlers last Tuesday, Jan. 13 during a tri-match with Winder-Barrow and Johnson. Haynes honored his nine seniors in a ceremony before the last match of the evening.
Ladies drop two games
Christian Daniel scored 10 points, but it wasn't enough as the Dawson County Lady Tigers dropped a 46-29 contest to Union County last Tuesday in Blairsville.

It was a tough weekend for Dawson County High School Head Basketball Coach Thad Burgess and his Tigers.
Wrestlers finish fourth in Area Duals
It was a great weekend for Tiger wrestling fans. Dawson finished in fourth place behind Jefferson, Banks County and East Jackson in the Area Duals held at East Jackson High School.

The Dawson County Lady Tiger basketball team started the new year in a big way. The team finished the week with two wins and one loss.

You couldn't have wished for a better start to 2009 according to Dawson County High School Head Boy's Basketball Coach Thad Burgess. His Tiger basketball team jumped right into the second half of their season with three big wins last week.
Amicalola Classic a huge success
The 26th annual Amicalola Classic wrestling tournament finished this past weekend. The tournament is arguably the best wrestling event in Georgia and last Friday and Saturday justified the reasoning.
Tiger grapplers split Stephens, Banks
The Dawson County High School wrestling team traveled to White County for a match with the Warriors, Stephens County and Banks County Tuesday, Dec. 16. The Tigers defeated Stephens County by a huge margin, 66-18, before dropping a 47-27 decision to the Leopards from Banks County.
Wrestlers win four matches at duals
It was a fantastic week for Dawson County High School wrestling. The Tigers won four of five matches at the Fannin County Duals in Blue Ridge last Saturday, Dec. 20. The lone loss came at the hands of East Jackson, 54-15.
Tigers sweep two
It was just the gift Head Coach Thad Burgess wanted before Christmas. His Tiger basketball team finished 2008 with two wins over quality teams.

Amicalola Classic begins this weekend
One of the most prestigious wrestling tournaments in Georgia will begin this weekend at the Ford E. Phillips Center. The Amicalola Wrestling Classic will be held for the 26th year at Dawson County High School Friday and Saturday, Jan. 2 and Jan 3.

The Dawson County High School Tiger golf team competed in the Region 7-AAA tournament last week at Mossy Creek Golf Course in Cleveland. Head Coach Wes Greer's team picked up a fourth place finish.

The Dawson County High School varsity boys soccer team outscored its two opponents 19-1 last week to improve its overall record to 12-2. More importantly, the team is 4-1 in region 7-AAA play.
Team bounces back
Dawson County High School varsity baseball coach Jimmy Pruett breathed a sigh of relief after Saturday's final out against Banks County. His Tigers broke a five game losing streak, by beating the Leopards, 14-0.
