A busy summer of basketball came to an end last week when the Dawson County High School Tigers finished playing in a Fellowship of Christian Athletes team camp at Fellowship Christian High School in Roswell.
A very tired Thad Burgess, head boys basketball coach, was pleased with the effort and hard work his team put in this summer.
The Dawson County High School Cross Country Team is busy conditioning for the upcoming season.
The team has been practicing since June 14 at Tiger Stadium. Practices usually begin around 6:30 p.m.

Two Dawson County High School baseball players were named honorable mention All-Area by the Gainesville Times last week. Seniors Jacob Anglin and Kaleb Holbrook were named to the team that is loaded with college-bound seniors.
Joining Anglin, at second base, on the team are Whit Bowen of North Hall, Drew Carson of Jefferson and Jonathan Woodring of East Hall.
The Dawson County High School Lady Tiger basketball team participated in a camp for the second week in a row at Pickens County High School in Jasper last Monday through Wednesday.

Dawson County High School Tiger soccer player Jose Miranda was named first team All-Area by the Gainesville Times last week.
Miranda set a school record with 21 assists this past season for his 10-7 Dawson County team.
Two Dawson County Lady Tiger golfers were recently named honorable mention All-Area by the Gainesville Times. Winning the honor were senior Rachel Dotson and junior Tayler Hasbrouck.
Joining Dotson and Hasbrouck on the honorable mention team were: Ashley Blackburn, Habersham Central; Veronika Brooks, Habersham Central; and Olivia Davis, West Hall.
Lady Tiger Katie Pritchard, who will attend Gordon College in the fall, was recently named second team All-Area by the Gainesville Times.
Pritchard led Dawson County on offense with 11 goals for Head Coach Jed Lacey's team. Pritchard also recorded eight assists on the season.
Dawson County senior golfer Wesley Bearden was recently named Second Team All-Area by the Gainesville Times. Bearden scored a season average of 78 for the Tigers.
Bearden will continue his career at North Georgia College & State University next season.
Dawson County High School Head Soccer Coach Jed Lacey honored the 2011 boys soccer team at a banquet May 19 in Dawsonville.
The team finished the season with an overall record of 10-7.
The Dawson County High School boys and girls golf teams held end of the year banquets May 16.
