The Lady Tigers softball team split games last week in two big Region 7-AAA match-ups. On Tuesday the team defeated Banks County, 6-3. Joy Lewis was the winning pitcher. She recorded nine strikeouts and two walks. Lewis gave up just seven hits in the win. Lewis also had a great day at the plate. She picked up two hits. Dawson County High School has named a new baseball coach. Varsity boys basketball coach Thad Burgess will replace Jimmy Pruett. Burgess was approved at the Sept. 9 board of education meeting.
