For the first time since 1992, the Dawson County High School varsity girls' basketball team is one of the final eight teams remaining in the state tournament. The Lady Tigers played in the third round of the tournament in three consecutive years from 1990-92.

Sophomore Tiger wrestler Gavin Brown captured a second place finish Saturday during the State Traditional Wrestling Tournament in Macon. Brown (182-pounds) lost in the finals to Chip Ness from Buford High School.

The Dawson County boys basketball team couldn't find a worse time to be in a slump. The Tigers have currently lost five of the team's last six games, which is something that hasn't happened often in head coach Thad Burgess' tenure.
A young but talented varsity Lady Tiger soccer team took to the pitch last week against visiting Rabun County. Coach Jed Lacey's team dominated the Feb. 15 game and took a 9-0 win over the Lady Wildcats from Tiger.
The No. 8 ranked in Class AAA Dawson County High School varsity boys soccer team recorded a 4-0 win over Rabun County on Friday night at Tiger Stadium. Dawson County jumped out fast and scored a goal off the foot of Josh Lund only four minutes into the game. Jose Miranda recorded the assist.
Dawson County High School senior Harley Vaughan made an important decision last week. Vaughan signed a scholarship Feb. 7 to continue his football career at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton. Vaughan is the 20th athlete that has signed a football scholarship under Coach Jeff Lee's training program since Lee has been at the high school.

The team defeated North Hall, 66-61, on Feb. 5, and finished the regular season with a decisive 70-32 win in Oakwood against West Hall on Feb. 8.

Senior Jade Perry led the Lady Tiger varsity soccer team to a dominating 3-0 win over Johnson last Thursday in an exhibition match in Dawsonville. Perry scored to put Dawson County ahead with 37:26 remaining in the second half after a scoreless first half. Taylor Bennett recorded an assist on the play.
