The 8-AA All-Region boys basketball team was announced Monday.
Boy’s team bows out of state tourney
Despite a valiant effort, the season is over for the Dawson County High School varsity boys basketball team. The Tigers traveled to Callaway High School last Friday night and were defeated 59-50.
Four participate in state traditionals
The Dawson County wrestling team participated in the state traditional wrestling tournament last weekend at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth. The Tiger wrestlers accumulated 11.5 points to finish in 41st place.

The Dawson County varsity boy's basketball team is on its way to the state tournament, again. It will be the fourth consecutive year for Head Coach Thad Burgess to take a team to state.

Head Coach Thad Burgess and his varsity Tiger basketball team traveled to Blue Ridge last Tuesday night for a big match-up against Region 8-AA foe Fannin County. The Tigers held off a late Rebel charge to come away with a 61-58 victory.

The fourth quarter has been the nemesis of Dawson County Lady Tiger basketball over the last few games.
4 wrestlers qualify for sectionals
The Dawson County wrestling team competed in the Area Wrestling Championships last Friday and Saturday at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville. Head Coach Arron Haynes' team was able to qualify four wrestlers for this weekend's sectionals, which will be held at Jefferson High School.
Ladies fall to Union
The Dawson County varsity Lady Tigers maintained a lead for three quarters, but just couldn't hang on as the team dropped its fifth straight game with a 68-50 loss to Union County last Friday night in Blairsville.
Tigers defeat Panthers
Dawson County has a strangle hold over Union County. The Tigers defeated Union for the ninth consecutive time last Friday night in Blairsville. Behind the great offensive performance by Stephen Scaife and Tyler Dominy, with 26 and 25 points respectively, the Tigers captured a 66-46 win over their archrivals Union County.

The young Dawson County Lady Tigers basketball team continues to fight.
Tough stretch ahead
The Tigers dropped an important Region 8A-AA game to Riverside Military Academy Monday night at the Ford E. Phillips gymnasium by a score of 52-41.
JV team wins two in a row
The Dawson County High School junior varsity boys basketball team won its second game in a row with a 40-34 win over Riverside Military Academy on Monday. Head Coach Wes Greer's team now stands at 7-6 on the season.
