Marshall Young Wakefield, 52, of Dawsonville, died July 11, 2012.

Marshall was born April 4, 1960 in Atlanta.

A graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School, he attended Southern Poly Technical Institute.

His business career included architecture and home remodeling.

His mother, Lena Darnell Wakefield, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his father, Richard O. Wakefield of Alpharetta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Rebecca Wakefield of Jackson, Lamar and Patti Wakefield of Suwanee; three nephews; a niece; various other relatives also survive.

At his request, funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions were asked to be made to: Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
