Dawson County High School Head Football Coach Jeff Lee took the skill position players to camp at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. last week.

"This is probably the best team I have ever taken to [Presbyterian College] in my 15 years attending the camp," Lee said.

Led by quarterback Tyler Dominy and go-to receiver Bruce Clark, the team came away from the camp with an impressive 11-1-4 record.

The Tigers suffered their only loss to perennial powerhouse Butler High School. The school is in Matthews, N.C. The Bulldogs were state champions in 2009 and 2010.

"I am very proud of the way our team has approached summer workouts," Lee said.

According to Lee, the coaching staff from Presbyterian College was impressed with the play of Dominy, Clark and Harley Vaughan.

While the skill players were in South Carolina, the linemen remained in Dawsonville working on agilities, conditioning and weights.

The Tigers aim to improve on last season's 5-5 record.

Lee's team will open the season with a scrimmage game against Towns County on Aug. 17.

The Tigers regular season will kickoff with a huge rivalry game at Lumpkin County on Aug. 31.

Dawson County will play its first home game on Sept. 7 against North Forsyth.

All games will start at 7:30 p.m.
