Grace Chumley West

Grace Chumley West, 81, of Cumming, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008. A native of Dawsonville, Grace had lived in Cumming most of her life. She was born in June of 1927, one of nine children of John Henry Chumley and Martha Sue Holtzclaw Chumley.

  

Grace was known as "Granny" to many and provided childcare in her home for more than 20 years.

  

Her husband of 42 years, Russell West, who died in August of 1999, preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her children, Joyce M. Jordan, James H. Spence, Daniel M. West, Ronnie D. West and Vickie West Farr; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Minnie L. Wigington, Loy Chumley, J. Carson Chumley and Edna Goswick; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Dave Holbrook officiating.

  

Interment followed in the Dawsonville City Cemetery.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
