Garland Reagan

Garland Reagan, 69, of Dawsonville, died May 8, 2012.

Born March 6, 1943, in Gastonia, N.C. to the late Edward and Fannie Reagan, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.

Along with his son, Mr. Reagan owned and operated Reagan Fence Company.

He was a founding member and past Post Commander of American Legion Post 247 and was a founding member of the Amicalola Bow Hunters.

Garland was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam and was a member of Juno Baptist Church.

His brother, Dale Reagan and sister, Garnetta Fields, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Chris Reagan of Dawsonville, Shawn and Charlene Reagan of Loganville; grandson, Michael Reagan of Loganville; brothers, Steve Reagan of Ball Ground, Howard Reagan, Marshall Reagan, Butch Reagan, all of Dawsonville; sisters, Kathryn Smith, Carolyn Sweatman, both of Dawsonville, Barbara Kuhn of Greer, S.C.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 10 at Juno Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Weldy and Tim Biddy officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
