Maurice A. “Tom” Thomas

Maurice A. “Tom” Thomas, 80, of Dahlonega, died May 1, 2012.

Born June 27, 1931 in Jacksonville, Fla. to the late Henry and Alva Thomas, he had lived in Lumpkin County since 1994.

Mr. Thomas was a driver with Central Truck Lines for 35 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of New Life Church of God.

Survivors include his sister, Ina Jean Dobbs of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Floyd W. Thomas of Gainesville, Fla.; trusting friends, Charlie Morrison, Clarence and Joan Huffman, Dianne Leach, all of Dahlonega; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 5 at New Life Church of God with the Rev. Mike Owens officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
