Ruby Chumbley

Ruby Chumbley, 77, of Marble Hill, died April 27, 2012.

Born Jan. 29, 1935, in Atlanta to the late Clyde and Clara Mann, she lived in Marble Hill since 1998, having moved from Lithia Springs.

A homemaker at her death, Ruby was formerly employed by Genuine Parts and Atlanta Envelope.

Mrs. Chumbley loved travel and working with flowers in the landscape of her home.

She was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church.

Her brother, Hubert Mann, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, J. Carson Chumbley of Marble Hill; children, Johnny Chumbley of Talking Rock, Rita Chumbley of Stockbridge; sister, Ruth Greenway of Marble Hill; grandchildren, Jore Chumbley, Michael Chumbley, Travis Chumbley, Melanie Chandler; nine great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. April 30 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tom Stradley and Dave Holbrook officiating. Interment followed in the Amicalola Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
