Jimmy Reeves

Jimmy Reeves, 71, of Dawsonville, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008.

  

Born in Lumpkin County, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.

  

Mr. Reeves was the retired owner of R & R Glass Co., was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ode and Dolly Reeves; sisters, Pauline Reeves and Edna Fletcher; brothers, Horace Reeves, Gene Reeves and Jack Reeves.

  

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Martha Reeves of Dawsonville; children, Terry Reeves, Tammy Ledford, both of Dawsonville; sisters, Odeline Talley, Grace Abernathy, both of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Leslie Reeves, Nathan and Cara Ledford, Marcy Ledford, Travis Reeves; great-granddaughter, Angelina Ledford; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Ross and Robert Kersh officiating.

  

Interment followed in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

  Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
