Claude Benson Martin

Claude Benson Martin, 99, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County, died March 22, 2012.

He was a member and the oldest deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Martin operated Martin's Greenhouses for more than 50 years.

His parents, Mitchell and Julia Martin; and a brother, Benjamin Martin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 78 years, Faye Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Phyllis Martin; grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Leshia Martin, Corey and Amanda Martin, Dana and Phillip Pratt; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, C.F. Martin and Paul Martin; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 24 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Sorrels and Ruel Martin officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
