Film crews for the baseball drama “Trouble with the Curve” starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake roll out equipment to shoot scenes for the movie Tuesday at Amicalola Lodge.

Movie legend Clint Eastwood was scheduled to arrive Tuesday in Dawsonville to begin filming scenes at a local motel.

The Warner Brothers' production "Trouble with the Curve" stars Eastwood as an aging baseball scout who travels to Atlanta with his daughter to see a hot prospect.

The movie also features Amy Adams as Eastwood's estranged daughter, Justin Timberlake as a rival scout and John Goodman.

Pravin Patel, owner of Amicalola Lodge, said he's been told each of the celebrities will be at his motel sometime this week.

"I'm very excited," he said. "I never in my life thought it would be like this."

Patel said his phone has not stopped ringing in weeks. He's also receiving mail from fans inquiring about the movie and its stars.

"I've gotten letters from people wanting me to give them to Justin Timberlake," he said. "I tell them I can't do that, but they want me to. It's really crazy."

The craze is likely to last for at least another week. Filming began Tuesday and is expected to continue through March 27.

Motorists should expect brief traffic delays near the motel and are encouraged to use Howser Mill Road instead.

Marty Williams, vice president of tourism for the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce, said residents shouldn't be discouraged if they can't get on set to meet the stars.

"It's a tight production schedule," he said.

The schedule is so limited that even the city council may not be able to present the stars with a key to the city as the group planned earlier this month.

"I was talking to one of the crew today and he said he'd still pass the word along that the city wants to do this, but it's not looking too good," said Councilmember Calvin Byrd. "We're just glad they're here."

Though maybe not as glad as Patel after the production company spent thousands of dollars remodeling the 55-year-old motel with new fixtures, ceilings, carpet, a canopy and a patio.

"They've spent a lot of money here. I'm so proud," he said. "The directors and producers, they told me of all the places they've filmed here in Dawsonville is their favorite."

Scenes for the movie were also shot in Athens, Atlanta, Conyers and Macon.
