POSTED: March 20, 2012 4:08 p.m.

The Dawson County High School girls' golf team picked up two big wins last week on the links.

The Lady Tigers defeated Jackson County, 100-106, on March 12 at Chestatee Golf Club and Pickens County, 95-121, on March 15 at Crystal Falls Golf Club.

Maddy Caldwell shot a 40 over 9 holes to lead the Lady Tigers against Jackson County.

Lady Tiger Tatum Turner reached the clubhouse with a 60.

Against Pickens County at a very tough Crystal Falls course, Caldwell led the way again with a 9-hole total of 38.

Teammate Tayler Hasbrouck shot a 57 for Dawson County to help pick up the win.

Dawson also participated in the fourth annual Warrior Spring Swing golf tournament hosted by White County High School on March 10.

The Lady Tigers played 18 holes at a challenging Mossy Creek Golf Club.

The team finished in a very respectable seventh place out of 18 teams.

Caldwell had an outstanding day. She finished in fourth place overall with an 82.

Coach Van Samples' team will be back in action March 21 with a match against West Hall at Royal Lakes Golf Course in Gainesville.

The 9-hole event will begin at 4 p.m.
