Boys lose two

Coach Van Samples' Dawson County boys' golf team had a rough week.

The Tigers lost two matches. One to Jackson County, 198-169, on March 12 and the second at the hands of Pickens County, 189-180, on March 15.

Chestatee Golf Club was the site of the match against Jackson County.

Tiger Caleb Samples posted a team low round of 45.

Samples was followed by teammates Jake Phillips and Trevor Gordon who both recorded a 48.

Clay Glover finished with a 49 to round out the scoring.

Thursday's 9-hole match with Pickens was a hotly contested event.

Once again, Caleb Samples led Dawson with a 44.

Tiger Levi Samples was close behind with a 46.

Trevor Gordon posted a 49 and Casey Compton shot a 50.

The team will be back in action March 21 with a match against West Hall at Royal Lakes Golf Course in Gainesville.

Tee time will be 4 p.m.
