Dennis Clarence Griffin

Dennis Clarence Griffin, 60, of Gainesville, died March 17, 2012.

Mr. Griffin was born in Fitzgerald, Ga., to the late Raymond Washington Griffin and Margery Clements Griffin.

He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon minister and served several years in the children's ministry.

Dennis was retired from the Hall County Library System and worked for the State of Georgia as a caseworker in the Community Care Services Program.

Along with his parents, his grandparents, Arthur and Sophronia Griffin and Jake and Martha Clements, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Sandi (Parrish) Griffin of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Stephanie Griffin of Dawsonville; daughter, Abby Griffin of Gainesville; granddaughter, Kenadie Grace Griffin of Dawsonville; brother, Ray Griffin of Dalton; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 19 at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Drs. Tom Smiley and Jerry Gill officiating. Interment followed in Alta Vista Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Lakewood Baptist Church's Seeds of Hope, 2235 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501.

Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel of Gainesville was in charge of the arrangements.
