Nancy Copeland

Nancy Copeland, 62, of Cumming, died Tuesday, July 2, 2008 at her home following a period of illness.

Mrs. Copeland was born in Birmingham, Ala., and grew up in Center, Ala. She was a Cumming resident for the past 23 years. Mrs. Copeland was a homemaker and a member of True Way Baptist Church.

Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Rosa Gardner; brother, Billy Joe Gardner.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Jack Copeland of Cumming; children, Lisa Renee Lewin, Russell and Jennifer Copeland, Steven Copeland, all of Cumming, Michael Copeland of Buford; sisters, Barbara Koziol of Brunswick, Betty Simmons of Ball Ground, Carol Tanner of Rockmart; brother, Darrell Gardner of Acworth; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 5 at 11 a.m. in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Cecil Wheeler, James Phillips and Todd McGhee officiating. Interment followed at the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
