William A. “Bill” Perkins

William A. "Bill" Perkins, 66, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 29, 2012.

Born Nov. 18, 1945, in Hartsville, S.C. to the late Norman and Ruby Perkins, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 21 years, having moved from Cumming.

Mr. Perkins was a retired truck driver for Airgas in Gainesville.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

His brother, Henry Perkins, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Perkins of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Danny Pruitt, Elise Perkins, all of Dawsonville, Crystal and Shane Pursley of Braselton; son, William Perkins of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Emma Lou Perkins of Dahlonega, Melvin Perkins, Ronald and Charmaine Perkins, all of Hartsville, S.C.; grandchildren, Taylor, Tatum and Trey Pruitt, Jacob, Kristen and Kelsey Gooch; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. March 4 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
