ELLIJAY — Appalachian Community Bank has appointed Jonathan “Bart” Nunley IV as regional president of their Dawson and Lumpkin County locations.

He is responsible for overseeing operations of both the Dawsonville Downtown and Dawsonville 400 offices, as well as the new Dahlonega office.

Nunley has been with Appalachian Community Bank since April of 2002.  His most recent position was branch manager and vice president of the Gilmer County Bank Highlands Branch.  He has also served as a consumer, commercial and mortgage lender.

Nunley has extensive management experience, previously as a logistics manager for King Provision Corporation and a manager for UPS.

“I am pleased to make this announcement and to recognize Bart’s significant contributions to our company. His commitment to our customers, employees and the community has been instrumental in the bank’s success,” said Tracy Newton, president and CEO of Appalachian Bancshares, the holding company for Appalachian Community Bank.

A graduate of Kennesaw State University with an Associates of Business, Nunley has furthered his banking education with certifications from Community Bankers Association in mortgage, consumer and commercial lending.

He has also undergone a one-year series of management courses.

Nunley is currently enrolled at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado. He is a graduate of Leadership Gilmer, sponsored by the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce.

Bart and his wife, Crystal, have two sons, Caleb, 6 and Drew, 3.

He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and mountain biking.

He is excited about his new role with Appalachian Community Bank and invites the community to stop in any of the bank’s branches. He looks forward to meeting the residents of both Dawsonville and Dahlonega.
