Weldon James Corn

Weldon James Corn, 87, a native and life long resident of Forsyth County, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 following an extended illness.

Mr. Corn was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church where he started the tape ministry delivering tapes to those in the community who were unable to attend services.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Jewell (Dean) Heard Corn; parents, James and Eula Corn; brothers, George Corn and Amon Corn.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Stanley Darnell, Joan and Billy Waters, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Scott and Janice Darnell, Steve and Kristin Darnell, Dana and Jeff McBrayer, Chad and Susan Waters; great-grandchildren, Brice Darnell, Kayla Darnell, Lindsey McBrayer, Tyler McBrayer, Sophia Darnell and Dalton Williams; one great-great-grandchild, Austin McBrayer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pierce and Kate Corn, Ernest and Bobbie Corn, all of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Lyndon Ivey of Cumming; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doris Corn, Hazel Corn, Hugh and Janice Heard, Ineal Heard, Artie Hammond, all of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were July 3 at 1 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Danny Bennett, John Lummus, Robert Martin and Scott Darnell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to be made to The Coal Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund, 3220 Dahlonega Hwy., Cumming, GA 30040.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
