POSTED: December 13, 2008 5:00 a.m.

The Dawson County Middle School seventh grade girls’ basketball team lost to Fannin County 33-18 in Blue Ridge Friday, Nov. 21.

Dawson County Middle School Head Coach Tina Brown and her team bounced back on Monday, Nov. 24 with a convincing 30-15 win over Clear Creek Middle School.

With the win and loss Dawson went into the Thanksgiving break with a respectable 3-1 record.

Against Fannin County, the Lady Tigers were down 22-2 at the half.

Dawson rallied in the second half and outscored the Lady Rebels 16-11.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the Lady Tigers lost the contest.

The situation was different against Clear Creek Middle School.

The Lady Tigers exploded offensively to double-up Clear Creek 30-15.

Madison Shope led the way, pouring in 13 points.

Hannah Moye contributed 9 points, Brooke Duffy added 4 points, Emily Chester and Emily Ayers each chipped in with 2 points.

“We were hitting our shots from the outside, unlike last Friday night,” commented Brown.

“All nine players contributed to the win against Clear Creek,” she added.
