Doughnut shop may open

POSTED: September 21, 2011 4:00 a.m.

The local development authority announced Friday that Dunkin' Donuts is currently looking to open a franchise in Dawson County.

The well-known doughnut company is seeking a potential franchise owner interested in starting a business in the area.

Dunkin' Donuts has been steadily expanding along the Ga. 400 corridor toward northern Georgia and has now set its sights on Dawson County, according to a press release.

"This is an excellent business opportunity for someone in our county that wants to open a quality franchise," said Charlie Auvermann, executive director of the authority.

Anyone interested in additional information regarding a Dunkin' Donuts franchise should contact the authority at (706) 265-8761.
