Graves to address chamber

POSTED: August 10, 2011 4:00 a.m.

Congressman Tom Graves will be the guest speaker at the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon at noon Thursday.

A republican from Ranger, Graves was elected to fill Nathan Deal’s unexpired seat in June 2010 after serving seven and half years in the Georgia General Assembly.

In the Georgia General Assembly, Graves authored legislation that was nationally recognized and designed to help small businesses put Georgians back to work through a series of tax credits, cuts and incentives for small businesses.

He is expected to talk about his plan for creating jobs, the country’s economic situation and give some insight on the nation’s debt debate, according to his spokesman John Donnelly.

Graves represents Georgia’s 9th Congressional District, which touches the northern suburbs of metro Atlanta to the northwest corner bordering Alabama and Tennessee.

Reservations are required for the luncheon, which will be held at the Lakeview Center on Dawson Forest Road.

For more information, call the chamber at (706) 265-6278.
