Jesse Evans, 76, of Dawsonville died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008.

  

Mr. Evans lived most of his life in Dawson County and retired from General Motors after 31 years of service.

  

He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lula Evans; sister, Melba Cain; brothers, Ansel Evans, Eugene Evans and Marvin Evans.

  

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mildred Evans of Dawsonville; children, Gary Smith, Jeffrey Evans, both of Dawsonville, Mitchell and Donna Evans of Summerville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Desse and Lee Westbrook of Dawsonville, Flonnie and Donald Westbrook of Marietta, Nell and Jerry Self of Hickory Flats; brothers and sister-in-law, J.L. and Jama Evans of Dawsonville, Elmer Evans of Jasper; grandchildren, Chris Smith, Michael Smith; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Mitchell Evans, Shannon Westbrook and Danny Cain officiating.

  Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
