ASK THE EXPERTS

Thanks to emergency personnel

POSTED: July 6, 2011 4:00 a.m.

In light of the recent storms that we have had all over our area here, I would just like to say a huge "Thank You" to all of the people who helped to get our electricity back up and running.

On June 18, my power went off and was off for 18 hours, going into Sunday.

I'm sure that most of the workers going out to clear downed trees were men, and that cut into the time they could spend with their families on Father's Day.

Many of them were probably the same ones that had to go out over Christmas when that spell of bad weather hit us.

This includes, but is not limited to, firemen, police officers, and the EMC workers.

I, for one, really appreciate all the dedication these folks demonstrate and the tireless efforts they make on our behalf.

Hopefully, more people will join me in thanking these people for the great job that they do, everyday, including holidays.

Kudos to all of you.
