Middle school participates at Pickens event

Upcoming Dawson County Middle School Lady Tiger eighth graders participated in a team camp at Pickens County High School last week.

The Lady Tigers went undefeated after winning all three games they played by a substantial margin.

During the team's last game of the camp, Dawson County defeated a very good Elbert County junior varsity team by a margin of, 62-17. The Lady Tigers also picked up victories against Fannin County and East Jackson middle schools.

"We had a great time. It was really fun for the girls. I was really pleased by how hard they played. They are very competitive and play so well together," said team coach Thad Burgess.

Members of the team are: Haley Burgess, Lauren Burgess, Karlie Bearden, Peytan Porter, Brittany Griggs, Ansley Costley and Summer Vaughan.
