Former Dawson County Lady Tiger golfer Kasay Holbrook was recently named Choice Hotels Big South Women’s golfer of the week.

Holbrook, who plays for Division-I Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., was given the award for two consecutive record-setting performances this fall.

Holbrook, a junior, started her strong play at the 12th annual Great Smokies Intercollegiate by recording a school record lowest round, 70, and two rounds of 150, while also helping lead the team to set records for one round, 301, and two rounds of 604.

She continued her impressive form at the Sea Trails Intercollegiate by finishing tied for seventh place, her second collegiate top-10 finish, and setting the school record for three rounds with a 237 total.

The team also kept up pace and helped set the school record for three rounds with a 935, bringing the total to six new records in only two weeks.

In her third tournament, after being named golfer-of-the-week, Holbrook captured another top 10 finish at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.

The junior scored a two-round total of 77 and 77 to finish tied for sixth place. It was her second straight top-10 finish and gave her the most in program history with three.
