Johnie Lee Bearden

Johnie Lee Bearden, 83, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at her residence following a short illness.

Born in Fannin County, she had lived most of her life in Dawson County. Mrs. Bearden was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Her husband, Roy "Bud" Bearden; sons, Don Bearden, Cicero Bearden, Dexter Bearden; parents, Wesley and Minda Greenway; two sisters; six brothers, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Leroy "Pete" and Linda S. Bearden of Dawsonville, Dianne and Wayne Bennett of Gainesville; brother and sisters-in-law, J.D. and Grace Greenway, Virginia Greenway, all of Dahlonega, Mardell Greenway of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Angela and Steve Howard, Chad Bearden, April and Jason Lester, David and Kristi Bearden; great-grandchildren, Dexter Hubbard, Devin Bearden, Sawyer Bearden, Lindsey Lester, Bailey Lester, Alli Lester; special friend and caregiver, Vicki Strickland; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Keith Cook and Jason Lester officiating.

Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
