Doyle Martin

Doyle Martin, 72, of Dahlonega, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a brief illness.  Mr. Martin was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, was self employed in construction for many years and was of the Baptist faith.  He was the son of the late Sam Jones Martin and Viona Rice Martin and was also preceded in death by his brother, S.J. Martin.  Survivors include his wife of nearly 51 years, Anne Martin of Dahlonega; daughters and son-in-law, Kristie Martin, Tammy and Justin Priest, all of Dahlonega; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Claude and Olive Gragg of Canton; grandchildren, Mechelle  Hutcheson, Ashley Price and Brooke Price; various other relatives also survive.  Funeral services were Tuesday, June 24 at 11 a.m. at the Harmony Baptist Church in Dawson County with Revs. J.W. Day and C.B. Martin officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.  Banister Funeral home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
