Dawson middle softball remains undefeated

POSTED: September 21, 2008 5:04 a.m.

The Dawson County Middle School softball team continues to dominate play.

Last Tuesday the Lady Tigers defeated Jasper Middle School by a 16-1 score.

The team’s record sat at 6-0 on the season as of press time.

Pitcher Jenna Abbott was almost untouchable.

Abbott had 11 strikeouts in the game before it was called due to “mercy rule.”

Abbott also contributed at the plate with two doubles and a single.

Everyone on Coach Karen Spencer’s roster scored at least one run in the game.

Contributing to the offensive explosion were Carly Gilreath with a triple, Kenna Seitz with three singles, Gracie Hovan with a double and Natalie Burt with a single and three walks.

Savanna Estes, Morgan Gaddis and Martie Rogers all scored from walks given up by the Jasper pitcher.

The Dawson County Middle School Lady Tigers defeated Clear Creek Middle School Friday, by a score of 17-2.

The Lady Tigers will be back in action this Friday.

The team will play host to Gilmer County Middle School.

Next Tuesday the Lady Tigers will play host to Pickens.

Both games are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
