Head Coach Rick Corwin is pleased with how his Lady Tiger soccer team has been playing as of late. Dawson is currently on a 3-game winning streak after picking up wins over Rabun County, 2-0, Towns County, 2-0, and Union County, 1-0.

All three wins have been shutouts. Goalie Lindsey Vinson picked up her fourth shutout of the season.

Dawson is currently 6-3-1 overall this season.

Last Tuesday, March 23, the Lady Tigers dominated ball possession and the game against visiting Towns County. Sydney Crumley tallied both goals against the Lady Indians. Crumley leads the team with seven goals this season.

Crumley’s two goals were off assists by Emily Stowers, Jade Perry and Brittany Duffy.

“I would say that we controlled the pace of the game for the majority of play,” said Corwin. “Towns only had one or two scoring chances.”

He added: “We had plenty of chances wasted.”

On Friday the team made the long trip to Union County for a much needed win against the Lady Panthers. It was an important area game for the Lady Tigers.

Dawson only scored one goal, but it was enough to come away with the 1-0 win.

“We appear to have found an identity, and a sense of common purpose, though we still cannot buy a goal at times. If we could finish chances, we might worry some teams,” said Corwin.

The team played Fannin County at home, today, March 30. Scores were unavailable at press time.

Thursday, the team will travel to Riverwood High School for a non-region match.
