Golfers finish in 10th place at classic

POSTED: March 9, 2010 4:30 p.m.

The Dawson County High School golf team finished a respectable 10th place out of 20 teams at the Coal Mountain Classic on Feb. 25.

Wesley Bearden shot a 77 for Head Coach Van Samples’ Tiger team.

The 77 was good enough for a fifth place finish overall.

Tiger Cody Palmer finished in seventh place with a 79.

Palmer was followed by teammates Zach Williams, 85, and Caleb Samples with a 92.

The team will have matches today against East Jackson at Double Oaks Golf Course, and will play host to Forsyth Central at Chestatee Golf Club on Thursday.

Both events will be 9-hole matches and will begin at 4 p.m.
