Billy and Teresa Rice and Cindy Darnell, all of Dawsonville, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Emily Lynn Rice, to Jonathan Neil Herrin.

  

He is the son of Rodney and Kelley Herrin of Cornelia.

  

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Velma Rice of Dawsonville, and Jane Hulsey of Dahlonega, Larry Hulsey of Suches, and Wayne and Faye Grant of Dawsonville.

  

The prospective groom is the grandson of Evelyn Herrin of Cornelia, John and Jan Barnette of Clarkesville and the late Jesse Herrin of Cornelia.

  

A 2003 graduate of Dawson County High School, Emily received a degree in art education from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega in 2009.

  

She is an alumna of Phi Mu Fraternity.

  

A 2005 graduate of Habersham Central High School, John received a degree in business administration from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega in 2009. He is an alumna of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

 

He is currently employed as an insurance agent at Jack Bradley Agency in Cornelia.

  

A wedding ceremony is planned for Oct. 10, 2010 at the home of the bride in Dawsonville.

  

Formal invitations will be sent.
