Young Lady Tigers defeat Clear Creek

The Dawson County Middle School girls soccer team came away with a 3-0 win over Clear Creek in its first game last Tuesday, Feb. 23.

  

Lady Tiger Madison Shope scored the first goal of the season.

  

Megan Powell and Taylor Vaughters also added goals for the Lady Tigers.

  

Vaughters' goal was set up on a great cross by Brooke Duffy in the last minute of the game.

  

Anela Melton got the shut out in goal for Dawson County.

  

On Thursday, the team was defeated by Riverview 3-0 for their first loss of the season.

  

Dawson is currently 1-1 on the season.

  

This week the Lady Tigers will play home games against Pickens County Middle School on Friday and Union County Middle School on Tuesday of next week. Both games will begin at 4 p.m.

  

Members of this year's team include Cassidy Byess, Sara Bywaletz, Maddie Contreras, Brianna Cooke, Brooke Duffy, Chelsea Gray, Sara Grogan, Anela Melton, Hannah Moye, Samantha Phelps, Megan Powell, Jordan Seppenfield, Madison Shope, Abi Swanger and Taylor Vaughters.

  

The team is coached by Donna Melton and assisted by Karen Spencer.

  

Managers for this year's team are Madison Adams, Elexi Crain, Tristan Melton and Cortney Bearden.
