Michael J. Alldred

Michael J. Alldred, 41, of Dahlonega, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at St. JosephÕs Hospital in Savannah, following an extended illness.  Born in Orlando, Fla., he had lived in Lumpkin County for 31 years, having moved from Cherokee County.  Mr. Alldred was a 1984 graduate of Lumpkin County High School and a 1988 graduate of North Georgia College and State University. He worked in retail management and was formerly manager of Winn Dixie in Roswell and Adidas in Dawsonville.  He was of the Catholic faith. An avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing and all outdoor sports.  Michael had a big heart and had a compassion for helping others and was an inspiration to his brothers.  Survivors include his parents, Jim and Ellen Alldred of Dawsonville; brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph Alldred, Chris Alldred, both of Charlotte, N.C., Brian Alldred, Jamie and Cas Alldred, all of Dahlonega; nieces, Savannah Alldred, Autumn Alldred; various other relatives also survive.   Funeral services were Thursday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Msgr. Stephen Churchwell officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.  Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
