Lady Tigers capture district title

The Dawson County 11 and 12 girls basketball All-Star team captured the District 7 Championship at Rock Creek Park this past weekend.

  

The girls defeated Rabun Count 50-30 to win the championship.

  

Leading up to the final game, the team defeated Banks County, 45-22, and Union County, 66-11.

  

Dawson will participate in the state playoffs on March 5-6 at Fannin County.

  

Members of this year’s team are Eliza Sillesky, Lauren Burgess, Hether Brady, Brittany Griggs, Ansley Costley, Peytan Porter, Tabitha Morrison, Summer Vaughan, Karlie Bearden and Haley Burgess.

  

The team is coached by Thad Burgess, Tina Brady and Barry Bearden.
