Betty Guffey

Betty Guffey, 73, of Dawsonville, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010.

  

Born Jan. 12, 1937 in Amber, Okla. to the late Odisa and Mary Nye, she moved from Forsyth County to Dawson County 22 years ago. Mrs. Guffey owned and operated a cleaning service and was also preceded in death by her husband, Otha Clay Guffey and several sisters and brothers.

  

Survivors include her sons, Craig A. Guffey of Dawsonville, Clark A. Richardson of Terrell, Texas and Michael W. Richardson of Reno, Nev.; sister, Peggy Hilti of Oklahoma; brothers, Ronnie Low, Jimmy Ray Nye, both of Oklahoma; two grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

At her request, Mrs. Guffey was cremated and no services are planned.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
