POSTED: February 2, 2010 4:43 p.m.

The Dawson County Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team finished the regular season with an undefeated record, 10-0, with a 43-32 win over Union County last Monday, Jan. 25 in Dawsonville.

Logan Burt had a tremendous game offensively for the Tigers. He scored 19 points for his team.

Head Coach Jonathan Tinsley’s team held a commanding 21-7 lead at halftime, using a punishing full-court press against the Panthers.

The Tigers dropped out of the press in the second half and played a zone defense.

Also scoring for Dawson were: Colton Chester with eight points, Caleb Stepp added six points, Jackson Putnam contributed five points, Chase Wilson had three points, Jonathan Sanderson and Lucas Pain scored two points each.

The Tigers entered the Mountain League Tournament in Jasper as the No. 1 seed. The Tigers played No. 8-seed Clear Creek in the first round of the tournament Monday.

Scores were unavailable as of press time.
