ASK THE EXPERTS

8th grade ladies lose close one

POSTED: January 26, 2010 4:18 p.m.

Head Coach Nichole Green’s eight grade Lady Tiger basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Jasper Middle School last Thursday, Jan. 21. The final score was 21-13.

The Lady Tigers were ahead 10-5 at the end of one quarter.

Unfortunately, Dawson managed only three points the remainder of the game on three free throws in the third quarter.

“We had a hard time putting points on the board,” Green said. “Defensively, we did what we need to do. We played a box in one on their go to player and held her to 12 points....but it’s hard to win a game when we had such a hard time scoring.”

Madison Shope led the Lady Tiger in scoring with six points, followed by Hannah Moye with five points, and Emily Ayers with two points.

The Lady Tigers will host Union County Thursday.

Tip off is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
