Ken and Betty Bagwell of Dawsonville announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Kara Nicole Bagwell to Russell Charles Hewatt.

 

He is the son of Charles and Becky Hewatt of Loganville.

 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late J.B. Bagwell of Lake Wales, Fla. and Fra Bagwell of Lake Wales, Fla., the late Charles and Louise Dothard of Cartersville and the late Carl Eckert of Benton, Miss., and Elizabeth Eckert of Benton, Miss.

 

She is a 2001 graduate of Alexander High School in Douglasville and a 2005 graduate of North Georgia College and State University. She holds a BBA in marketing and is currently employed as the marketing director at United Community Bank in Dawsonville.

 

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Helen Scarbrough of Decatur, Harry Scarbrough of Lawrenceville and the late Reece and Kate Hewatt of Stone Mountain.

 

He is a 1998 graduate of Loganville High School in Loganville and a 2004 graduate of North Georgia College and State University. He holds a BBA in finance and is currently employed as a lender at Chestatee State Bank in Dawsonville.

 

The couple plans to wed Oct. 4, 2008 at the Jekyll Island Club in Jekyll Island, Ga.

 

The couple will make their home in Dawsonville.
