Willis "Homer" Patrick

Evangelist Willis "Homer" Patrick, 73, of Dawsonville, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.

  

He was a member of The Holy Grounds Tabernacle in Dawsonville and was a loving husband and dad who preached the gospel for many years.

  

His wife, Evangelist Mary Melinda Patrick; daughter, Olivia Ruth Patrick; great-grandsons, Austin Akins and Lukas McBrayer; parents, Carl Patrick and Nellie Patrick Parker; brothers, Jackie Patrick and Rueben Patrick; and sisters, Betty Pendley and Mildred Woodall, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his children, Pastor Willis Michael and Rachel (Bennett) Patrick, Danny and Rachael (Patrick) Akins, Homer Junior and Rachel Patrick and Peggy Patrick Swanson; grandchildren, Travis and Tonya Berry, Scott and Sheryl Patrick, Danny and Ginger McGee, Tray and Rebecca McCullough, David and Chanda Wood, Christy Akins, Michael Akins, Jeremy Akins, Ricky and Amber Hodges, Arliss Patrick, Christopher Patrick, Steven and Deanna Parker, David McBrayer and Brittany Fortner, Dexter and Ashley McBrayer, Derek McBrayer and Tabitha Jones, Miracle Suddeth, Will McBrayer and Anna McBrayer; great-grandchildren, Logan Berry, Melinda Patrick, Brandon McGee, Owen McGee, Stephen Roberson, Olivia McCullough, Shay Akins, Reagan Akins, Jaida Wood, Nathaniel Hodges, Cadence Hodges, Daisy Nichols, Lyndon Suddeth, Hailey McBrayer, Nathaniel McBrayer, Harmony Jones, Darius McBrayer, Destiny McBrayer and Dayna McBrayer; brothers, Morris and Jean Patrick; sisters, Elizabeth Christopherson, Doris Manning, Mary and Virginia; special friend, Antonio Carbjal; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Evangelists Morris Patrick, Matt Humphries, the Rev. David Frady and the Pastor Jimmy Jackson officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
