John B. Blackstock

John B. Blackstock, 87, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.

  

Born May 1, 1923 in Forsyth County to the late George and Conie Blackstock, he moved to Dawson County five years ago.

  

Mr. Blackstock was formerly employed by Tyson Foods Inc.

  

His wife, Ethel Blackstock; brothers, Roger Blackstock and Bonnie Blackstock; and sisters, Chiplee Harris and Marie Hall, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his stepchildren, Margaret and Jacky Evans, Edith Woodruff, all of Dawsonville, Shirley and Charles Gallimore of Cumming, Wyndell Orr of Roswell; brother, Glendon Blackstock of Cleveland; several step-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. William Blackwell and Mark Flowers officiating.

  

Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
