7th grade girls defeat Lady Eagles

POSTED: December 22, 2009 4:30 p.m.

The Dawson County Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team defeated Riverview Middle School, in a very close and exciting game, 26-24, last Friday, Dec. 18.

The Lady Tigers also picked up a win over Pickens County Middle School, 37-20, last Tuesday.

The game with Riverview was close the entire ballgame.

“We played pretty good,” said Head Coach Tina Brown. “It was a defensive battle. I was proud that the girls kept their composure in a tight situation.”

Sheyenne Seabolt led all Lady Tigers in scoring with 18 points, while Jordan Moore had six points and Brooke Wende finished with two points.

Dawson’s win over Pickens County was over early. The Lady Tigers established themselves early in the game and never gave the Lady Dragons a chance.

Once again, Seabolt led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 16 points. Jordan Moore poured in nine points, while Cassidy Lecours had eight points in the victory.

The Lady Tigers are currently 5-1 on the season.
