Eighth grade Lady Tigers defeat Lady Eagles

POSTED: December 15, 2009 5:11 p.m.

Head Coach Nichole Green’s eighth grade Lady Tigers’ basketball team defeated Riverview Middle School 30-12 on Thursday, Dec. 10.

The Lady Tigers scored early and often in the win. Hannah Moye led Dawson with 11 points. She was followed offensively by Emily Ayers with nine, Madison Shope with eight and Brooke Duffy with two points.

“We played well,” said Green. “Everyone got pretty equal playing time. We’ve still got to work on rebounding and shooting, but the girls had a good game.”

Hannah Swafford and Ashley Parker led Riverview Middle School in scoring with four points each. Lady Eagles Samantha Keeney and Hannah McConnell scored two points each.

“We fell behind in the first half making it almost impossible to catch up. Our girls kept playing with heart and determination,” said Lady Eagle Head Coach Elizabeth Roper.

The teams will face off again this Friday, Dec. 18 at Riverview Middle School.
