Teams lose to White Co.

POSTED: December 15, 2009 5:10 p.m.

The Riverview Middle School seventh and eighth grade basketball teams lost to White County Middle School last Friday, Dec. 11.

The seventh grade Eagles lost 55-36, while the eighth grade team dropped a 57-43 decision.

Coach Mark Thomason’s seventh grade team is currently 1-3 on the season.

The eighth grade team dropped to 0-4.

In the seventh grade game Austin Martin and Brandon Abbott both had 15 points apiece to lead all Eagle scorers.

“We played much better than we did the first time we played White,” said Thomason. “We have two big region games this week and we need to take at least one out of two, if not both.”

The eighth grade team was led by Scott Zadernak with 15 points.

“We had a lot of turnovers and we just got beat on the boards,” said Thomason.

Riverview will host cross-county rival Dawson County Middle School this Friday, Dec. 18.
